Kate Kopeikin

Kate was born and raised in Southern California. She grew up going to the beach waterskiing and wakeboarding on the Colorado River. Kate’s father was a Fire Chief in Los Angeles and she followed in his footsteps as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for 7 cities in Los Angeles for 15 years. Kate married her best friend, Matt, and has a beautiful daughter named Sammi. The family relocated to Fort Mill, SC five years ago and never looked back. Kate worked for two local fire departments in Fire Prevention up until March 2022.

As a breast cancer survivor, Kate experienced 14 surgeries in 7 years. She was longing to be active again and eventually found Pilates. The moment she was on the reformer, she felt muscles firing that she had not felt in a long time. She decided to pursue teacher training after she fell in . love with Pilates and barre. She trained through Barre Where You Are in Charleston, SC to become a certified Barre instructor and taught Barre and Mat Pilates at the YMCA. Kate is passionate about helping breast cancer survivors find themselves again and heal from breast cancer surgeries and treatment. She is also working on a Trauma Impacts Movement Approach Certification and hopes to help people release their trauma through Pilates.

Kate homeschools her seventh grade daughter and works as a Virtual Executive Assistant. When she's not homeschooling, shuttling her daughter to gymnastics practice and competitions, you can find her taking care of their four rescue dogs, one cat, three rats and an aquarium full of fish. Being with family and friends out on the lake or a fun river float during the summer makes her heart happy.
